     3PE热缩带与3PE热缩套之所以得到广泛应用,主要是其有着很好的优点:黏结力强、防水性和密封性能较好、不污染环境,具有优异的耐磨损、耐腐蚀、抗冲击以及良好的抗紫外线和光老化性能。热缩带和热缩套在辐射交联后,具有记忆性,由这种基材经加工而成的热缩带和热缩套,其拉伸强度、抗拉力大大提高,稳定性强,对各种环境的适应度高。


     目前国内外聚乙烯的热收缩性能大都通过交联聚乙烯高聚物的记忆效应来实现。聚乙烯的交联方式主要为高能辐射交联。利用电子加速器产生的高能粒子射线对聚乙烯进行辐射,使聚乙烯分子链伤产生火化中心而形成C-C型交联。热缩带和热缩套为聚乙烯采用辐射的方式进行交联,使聚乙烯分子由线型结构变成网状结构而制成具有受热收缩性能的套或者带状制品,这种制品内表面涂敷一种热熔性黏结剂,当热缩套和热缩带加热收缩时,黏结剂熔化,冷却定型后起到黏结密封的作用。这种补口热缩套和带作为管道焊接处的补口材料,具有极好的密封性能。
