Major international agencies on electrical and electronic insulation technology

Time:2019/3/4 posted:Kehong Enterprises Co.,Ltd.

The main domestic institutions related to electrical and electronic insulation technology are described earlier, and the main international agencies related to electrical and electronic insulation technology are introduced to you next.

Founded in 1906, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) IEC is the world's first international electrician standardization agency headquartered in Geneva. After the establishment of ISO in 1947, IEC was ISO as an electrical department, but remained technically and financially independent. Under the new ISO and IEC agreement of 1976, both organizations are legally independent organizations, IEC is responsible for international standardization in the field of electricians and electronics, while other areas are under the responsibility of ISO.

The purpose of IEC is to promote international cooperation in standardization and related issues in the field of electricians and electronics, and to enhance mutual understanding. To that end, various publications, including international standards, were published and it was to be hoped that the national committees would use them, subject to the availability of their national conditions. IEC's areas of work include electrical technology in power, electronics, telecommunications and nuclear energy.

The highest authority of IEC is the Council. Currently, 53 member States become IEC National committees, and each country can have only one body as its member. Each Member State is a member of the Council, and the Council meets once a year, known as the LEC Annual meeting, alternating among Member States. The Executive Committee deals with matters entrusted to it by the Council.

The technical work of IEC is the responsibility of the Executive Committee (CA). In order to improve work efficiency, the Executive committee is divided into a, B, c three groups, respectively, in different areas to deal with the coordination of standard development work. IEC currently has 104 technical committees and 143 sub-technical committees. China became a member of IEC's executive committee in 1957 and hosted the 54th and 66th annual sessions of IEC in 1990 and 2002, respectively.

IEC has three certification committees, namely, the electronic Components Quality Basin Assessment Committee (IECQ), the Electronic Safety Certification Board (IECEE) and the explosion-Proof electrical Certification Committee (IECEX). In order to harmonize the certification guidelines, IEC also established the Conformity Assessment Board (CAB) in 1996 to develop a series of certification and accreditation guidelines, including system certification.
